Part Time Coordinator for Northern Arizona

Reach Out and Read Arizona (RORAZ) is currently seeking a part time Coordinator to support our Reach Out and Read (ROR) programs in Northern Arizona.  The Coordinator will assist our state RORAZ Coalition in its efforts to bring the love of books and reading to every child in Arizona.  The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently to recruit new programs, provide technical assistance for existing ROR sites and facilitate community level fundraising and advocacy efforts to support the ROR programs in Northern Arizona.

RORNA Coordinator key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical assistance for current ROR sites at least monthly.  This includes phone calls, emails or on site visits to answer questions about the operations of the program.

  • Conducting outreach efforts to recruit new programs.  This includes attending meetings to discuss ROR with interested literacy partners, business leaders and organizations, clinic sites and other similar events.
  • Assisting potential new sites with completion of ROR applications.
  • Assuring approved new sites receive necessary training to start their program.
  • Aroviding ongoing QA site monitoring through site visits.
  • Researching and securing local funding opportunities to support ROR sites and RORNA Coalition activities.
  • Networking with community agencies including early literacy partners, business leaders and organizations in support of ROR programs and early literacy activities in Northern Arizona.
  • Overseeing advocacy efforts including legislator site visits as the opportunity arises.
  • Participating in RORAZ Coordinator and RORAZ Coalition meetings

Qualifications: Experience with community level program development and management; knowledge of outpatient medical centers and fundraising experience required; early childhood education knowledge strongly preferred.

RORNA Coordinator is a part time position of 16 hours a week.
